Laura Broudy has a great bread recipe that makes this delicious product with very little effort. It was gone each time in 10 min, while it was practically still too hot to eat.
Ingredients:
- 3 c flour
- 1 scant tablespoon salt
- 1 tsp yeast mixed in 2 c warm water (let sit 10 min before adding to flour)
- 1 Tbs gluten if using whole wheat flour
Directions:
Mix yeast in water and let sit 10 min. Combine with flour mixture and stir vigorously. Let sit, covered, for 12-18 hours. Dump dough onto well-floured surface and cover for 4 hours. Preheat oven to 450 degrees with 8 x 8 pan in it. Remove pan and flour the bottom. Transfer dough into pan and bake for 30 min covered with a piece of tinfoil. Remove cover and bake 5 min. Cool on a wire rack a little before cutting.
